Artificial Intelligence Features
BookNest includes optional AI-powered features that can provide book summaries, recommendations, and answers to book-related questions.
On-Device AI
When available, BookNest uses Apple's on-device artificial intelligence technologies to generate book summaries, recommendations, and other reading-related insights. Information processed through these features remains on your device and is not transmitted to BookNest or external servers.
Because this processing occurs locally on your device, neither BookNest nor Apple receives access to the content being analyzed through these on-device AI features.
Third-Party AI Services
For more advanced book-related questions and discussions, BookNest may use third-party AI services, including OpenAI.
When you interact with these features, the information necessary to fulfill your request may be transmitted to the AI service. This may include:
- Questions you ask about books
- Book titles, authors, or reading-related information you provide
- Messages you enter into AI chat features
BookNest does not attach personally identifying account information to these requests and does not provide the AI service with your identity. However, users should avoid including sensitive personal information in AI conversations.
BookNest does not store or monitor the content of your AI conversations. Any processing, retention, or handling of information submitted to third-party AI services is governed by the privacy policies and terms of those providers.
AI Usage Limitations
The AI features within BookNest are intended solely for book-related purposes, including book discovery, recommendations, summaries, discussions, and reading assistance. Users should not rely on AI-generated responses as professional, legal, financial, medical, or other specialized advice.
Children’s Privacy
BookNest does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
